03/31/10: Jurist reports that the High Court of Australia on Tuesday ordered that alleged Serbian war criminal Dragan Vasiljkovic be extradited to Croatia to face prosecution. Vasiljkovic, an Australian citizen also known as Daniel Snedden, is accused of war crimes occurring during the 1991-1995 Croatian war of independence.

03/31/10: Politico reports that a federal judge is offering to drop disclipinary and contempt
proceedings against Central Intelligence Agency lawyers and officials,
including former CIA director George Tenet, over alleged abuse of the
state secrets privilege in a long-running lawsuit, if Attorney General
Eric Holder formally notifies Congress and the inspectors general about
the alleged misconduct. Judge Royce Lamberth proposed the somewhat unusual compromise in an opinion filed Tuesday in the suit, brought by a former Drug Enforcement Administration agent, Richard Horn.

03/30/10: Politico reports that a federal appeals court panel which included retired Supreme Court
Justice David Souter has ordered a judge to consider the Palestinian
Liberation Organization's arguments in favor of erasing a $116 million
default judgment imposed against the PLO and the Palestinian
Authority over a 1996 terrorist attack.

03/25/10: The BLT reports that a federal appeals court sided with a pair of military contractors when it ordered the Defense Department not to release
documents that might have revealed information about the companies’
business operations. The US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit found that department
had failed to adequately explain why it believed releasing the
documents, which had been subject to Freedom of Information Act requests
from journalists at a newspaper and a television station in
Connecticut, would not cause harm to either of the contractors. The two companies, helicopter maker Sikorsky and jet engine
manufacturer Pratt & Whitney, had argued that the documents should
be exempted from the request because they contained specific, detailed
information about their production and quality-control processes.
