Eric Holder, contempt of Congress, and Fast and Furious: what you need to know

06/22/12: The Atlantic has a good summary of the events that led to a House panel voting to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress this week.  The piece by David A. Graham s a good introduction, for those who aren’t familiar, to the failed gun sting “Operation Fast and Furious,” discusses the clash between Holder and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Cal.) over documents related to the operation, and analyzes what may happen now and the prospects for President Obama’s claim of executive privilege.  It also advises the reader to resist the urge to joke about how everyone is in contempt of Congress, because everyone has already used that line.
