07/09/12: BBC News reports Egypt’s Supreme Constitutional Court, which dissolved the country’s parliament last month, is due to discuss how to respond to President Mohamed Morsi’s recent order to reconvene it. The Speaker of the dissolved house has called for it to meet on Tuesday, and army units surrounding the parliament building have withdrawn, allowing MPs to enter. Morsi, whose Muslim Brotherhood won the most seats, says the chamber should function until a new election is held. Military and judicial authorities have held emergency talks, but have not announced any action so far. Despite the apparent tensions, President Morsi and Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, who heads the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), appeared together at a military cadet graduation ceremony on Monday.
